Beacon ranks #17 in SEO Championship
With a little over 3 weeks remaining in the SEO World Championship, Beacon’s Search Engine Marketing team is currently ranked 17th. Rankings fluctuate daily with the team reaching as high as #12 in late March.
On January 15th, the key phrase “globalwarming awareness2007” was announced as the phrase to be marketed by all registrants. Domain names had to be purchased on, or after January 15th in order to qualify. There are currently over 2 million sites indexed in Google for this key phrase. The winner will be crowned on May 1st based on rankings in Google, Yahoo and MSN>
“This is quite an accomplishment for our team and a testament to our capabilities,” says Mark Dirks, Beacon’s President, who spearheaded the company’s search engine marketing services back in 1999. “We are simply employing many of the same techniques that have proven successful for our customers.”
The team is composed of Brad Henry, Jeff Pickle and David Murphy, all of whom are Google certified professionals and the team has obtained Ambassador level from Yahoo. “We really expect to win this, especially when a few of our more recent upgrades are recognized by the engines,” says Brad Henry. “We have seen our rankings climb steadily over the last several weeks and have learned several new techniques that we will use going forward for our customers.”
Jeff Pickle points out that, “We are up against some of the best SEO professionals in the world, so we expect them to have some tricks up their sleeves down the stretch. But so do we.”
